Windows 11: Managing Multiple Displays

When connecting your Windows 11 computer to multiple screens/monitors, you can choose whether to show the same content on all screens, or to use each screen independently.

  1. Right-click on the desktop and choose “Display Settings” from the menu to access the window shown below.
  2. Click and drag to move the numbered boxes (1) around to match the location of your monitors. This will make moving between monitors more natural.
  3. Click the drop-down menu (2) to choose between extending the displays or duplicating the displays.
  4. You can select one of the boxes representing your computer monitors, and mark it as the main display (3). Any time you open a new window, it will appear on the main display.

* You can also use Windows Key + P on your keyboard or the F8 key on most laptops to quickly change between Duplicated and Extended displays.
